Analysis of Traditional Art Performances as a Representation of Local Wisdom in Purwokerto in the Digital Era
Main Article Content
Abstract
This study examines traditional arts in Purwokerto, such as Ebeg, Lengger Calung, and Buncisan. These arts serve not only as entertainment but also as a means of preserving the values, norms, and outlook of the Banyumasan people. In the digital era, changing interests of the younger generation and the commercialization of culture pose unique challenges, but social media opens up new opportunities for the promotion and revitalization of traditional arts. This study uses a descriptive qualitative approach with a case study method to understand how local wisdom values are maintained and adapted digitally. The results show that digitalization is effective in maintaining the existence of traditional arts, as long as they maintain their authenticity and philosophical meaning.
