Abstract

Educational access disparities in Indonesia, especially in primary schools in remote and underprivileged areas, pose significant challenges that impact both social and economic development. These disparities are characterize by limited educational facilities, a shortage of qualified teachers, and insufficient supporting resources, which impact student performance, social mobility, and long-term career opportunities. This study aims to analyze the factors contributing to educational inequities and their effects on students and communities. The research employs a literature review method, analyzing various scholarly articles, official reports, reference books, and relevant statistical data. The procedure includes identifying recent literature related to education and socio-economic disparities, followed by thematic analysis of the collected data. The findings reveal that unequal access to education not only deepens socio-economic disparities but also limits students' potential to develop skills necessary to compete in the workforce. Addressing these disparities is crucial for national development, as equitable access to quality education forms the foundation for improving productivity and social stability. Recommendations from this study aim to assist the government and stakeholders in promoting educational equity as a critical step toward achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDG), particularly Goal 4 on inclusive and equitable quality education.
